A Film Without An Intermission

The upcoming survival thriller Trapped is one of the most exciting films coming out this year. Produced by acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap under his Phantom Films banner, the film starring Rajkummar Rao and Geetanjali Thapa in lead roles has been directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and is set to hit screens on March 17.

The trailer for Trapped was recently few days back and caught the attention of filmmakers and fans across the country and, instantly piqued the curiosity for the film. With that said, latest reports now suggest the film will not have an intermission during its screening since its duration is said to be 105 minutes (1 hour 45 minutes).

Apparently, the idea behind such a decision to keep the audiences hooked to their seats is to make them avoid any distractions as it will only hinder their movie-watching experience. This is indeed a great idea as it will lead to better understanding of the content.

From an Indian film buff’s viewpoint, this will be a new and perhaps an odd experience as we have been used to going out for a break after a certain duration the film has been played. It must be noted that Hollywood films play without an intermission in the USA and other overseas nations, but are subjected to a break when shown in India.

We will just have to wait and see how the fans react to the film once it comes out later this week.
