A film that has long been delayed, the Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie Shankar starrer Puriyaatha Puthir was last announced to be a Pongal release earlier this year, but backed out of the race at the last moment. However, the film is now once again in the limelight.

Although there is no new release date for Puriyaadha Pudhir, there are details coming out about the film said to be an exciting and compelling story. As per reports, the film revolves around the drug trade in the South and the various efforts of narcotics officers to put a full stop to the menace.
