We had reported earlier that ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth will be presiding over an event in Sri Lanka where he’ll hand over the keys of newly built houses to Eelam Tamils in Jaffna Sri Lanka. Sponsored by Lyca Production’s Gnanam Trust who are currently bankrolling Rajini’s upcoming magnum opus 2.0 Rajini’s move to go to Sri Lanka for this has garnered a lot of criticism.
Many parties and pro-Tamil organisations from Tamilnadu have voiced their displeasure over this and on Friday, Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi party leader Thol Thirumavalavan urged Rajini to boycott the event.
But B.J.P M.P Subramanian Swamy has another opinion. He took to Twitter where he took a dig at ‘Superstar’. The tweet read, “If cinema star Rajnikant does not chicken out, but remains firm to go to Jaffna to distribute free houses, then he is worthy of praise.”
This isn’t the first time Swamy had something to do with Tamil cinema. He had previously attacked Kamal Haasan during the Jallikattu issue when he called the ‘Ulaganayagan’ “foolish” for expecting the then C.M to address the protestors in Marina Beach.
As far as the current issue is concerned, it’s not clear on what ‘Thalaivar’ is going to do as the event date, April 9th is fast approaching.
