Over the years, she’s most notably been seen in Tamil films namely her debut flick Poi Solla Porom in 2008, followed by Ajith’s Aegan in the same year, Venkat Prabhu’s Goa and Ko with Jiiva.
Last seen in the short film titled The Virgins in 2016, Pia Bajpai has stated that she believes modern men do not worry about whether a girl they are going to marry is a virgin or not and that this is something that the society clings on to. She said, “I think modern boys do not bother about the virginity of a girl. The society does. And, that is why the surgery (hymen repair to restore virginity) happens in small towns. In fact, my short film The Virgins talks about that subject. Of course, there are some men who look out for only virgin girls for marriage, but mostly it is their family, which means our earlier generation,”.
Pia further added saying, “In today’s time, we all have relationships before marriage where physical intimacy happens. How does that matter to a person, especially in an arranged marriage. That if the girl is a virgin at the first meeting? What does that prove of a girl? I, as a girl, do not encourage that, but yes I know that it is a social taboo and I think such practice should be stopped,”.
Pia Bajpai, who hails from Delhi is all set to be seen in her third Hindi film Mirza Juliet and has stated that her journey in Bollywood has been quite a struggle, but her instinct helped her stay strong and keep moving forward. She further reveals that she has faced nepotism in Bollywood and that at the end of the day only talent will help in survival.
Mirza Juuliet releasing on April 7 has been directed by Rajesh Ram Singh and sees her paired opposite Darshan Kumar. About her character, Pia says, “My character’s name is Juuliet, who has grown up with her brothers and so she uses abusive words with ease and does not have any girly, shy nature. However, she never falls in love and does not know about sex life. It is a very interesting character,”.
