Pa. Ranjith’s Next Before Rajinikanth Project
After his entry into the Tamil film industry with Attakathi and universal acclaim for his Madras, director Pa. Ranjith struck gold last year with Kabali starring ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth under Kalaipuli S. Thanu’s V Creations banner.
With such a positive head-start to his career, Pa. Ranjith was announced to spearhead Rajinikanth’s next under Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films banner last year which will roll into production later this year. Up until now, there were reports that the director was working on the project’s script.
With that said, he has now started his own production banner Neelam Productions and will be bankrolling the project titled Pariyerum Perumal to be directed by Mari Selvaraj, former assistant of National Award-winning director Ram.
It is said the upcoming film will be based on a youngster’s life in Tirunelveli with enough commercial elements. Kirumi fame Kathir will be playing the lead role while Kayal actress Anandhi is the heroine and Santhosh Narayanan handling the musical score. The film will begin production towards the end of this month with art direction by Ramu and cinematography by Sridhar.
